Track Racing

USA Cycling’s National Development Programs in track racing begin with talent identification through domestic competition results. Regional and National athlete development camps also play a significant role in preparing juniors for higher levels of competition.  Athletes are chosen to travel to international competitions based on training camp and competition results.  The National Development Program provides our promising young track athletes with the support they need to succeed at the highest levels of Olympic competition.

Olympic Training Facilities in Colorado Springs

USA Cycling maintains a base of operations for Track athlete development activities at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.  The Foundation recently contributed a $1,000,000 grant to cover the U.S. Olympic Committee’s velodrome facility in Colorado Springs, which allows for year round training of our development athletes. The Track component of the National Development Program also utilizes the European base of operations in Sittard when competing in northern Europe, and the AEG indoor veledrome facility in Carson, CA for select competition preparation.
