BMX Super Cross

USA Cycling’s National Development Programs in BMX racing begin with talent identification through domestic competition results. Regional and National athlete development camps also play a significant role in preparing young BMX athletes for the higher level of Supercross competition.  Athletes are chosen to travel to international competitions based on training camp and competition results.  The National Development Program provides our promising young BMX athletes with the support they need to succeed at the highest levels of Olympic Supercross competition.

Olympic Training Centers

Chula Vista & Colorado Springs

USA Cycling maintains a base of operations for BMX athlete development activities at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, CA. The U.S. Olympic Committee has developed excellent BMX facilities for our athletes since the inception of Supercross as an Olympic discipline prior to the 2008 Beijing Games. This amazing facility in Chula Vista provides year-round training and development for our young athletes. The BMX component of the National Development Program also utilizes the European base of operations in Sittard when competing at the Supercross facility in Papendal, Netherlands.
