USA Cycling's National Development Pathway: Step-by-Step

How do you get into USA Cycling’s National Development Program and get started on your pathway to success?

  1. Get a racing license and join a local club.
  2. Find a race near you and get pedaling!
  3. After you’ve found a supportive club/team and have a few local races under your belt, find and enter a Lance Armstrong Junior Race Series (LAJRS) or Alison Dunlap Junior Race Series (ADJRS) event near you.
  4. When you are ready to make the next step check out one of USA Cycling’s Regional Development Camps or enter the national championship for your discipline and age group.
  5. From there you may qualify for USA Cycling’s National Talent ID Camp held each Fall in Colorado Springs, be selected to represent the U.S. in an international competition or attend one of USA Cycling European Race Camps.
  6. With a lot of hard work you may just end up at Le Tour or winning Olympic gold for the USA!
